If it was not for "cooperative learning" study groups while I was in nursing school, I am not sure that I would have passed all the tests. I learned so much from studying as a group than I ever thought was possible. Discussions in our group were invaluable! Thanks for the great blog!

Just like Michelle found study groups while in nursing school to be very valuable. Now in our online classes, the discussion boards seem to take the place of these. Like we have talked about in our discussions in the class, it is imperative for the teacher to facilitate the discussions and to "re-start" it when the students start to lull in their comments. You did a great job with you blog!!

Amy, Very good job. I really like the post of Importance. Ormrod (2008) refers to learning in this same way. The more we enjoy learning the more successful we will be with learning. The more we avoid learning, the less likely we are to learn. I hope as instructors we are able to easily promote learning.
